Message From FSM President

H.E David W. Panuelo

Dear Olympic Athletes,

At the forefront, I wish to recognize the accomplishments you’ve achieved and the sacrifices you’ve made to get to Tokyo this year. Each of you has lived abroad for the duration of the COVID- 19 Pandemic, away from your home country—not out of choice, but out of necessity due to our closed borders. Despite the challenges of the Pandemic, you’ve maintained your training regimen, often with the kind assistance of capable and dedicated coaches, and now you find yourselves ably representing your country, our country, the Federated States of Micronesia, in Japan.

Words cannot express how proud I am of you Taeyanna, Tasi, and Scott. Regardless of what happens next in the coming days and weeks ahead, please possess complete confidence that your President stands with your People and your Nation in support and awe of you.

Whether it’s in the water or on the track and field, the whole of Micronesia wishes you success and looks forward to welcoming you back home to this Paradise in Our Backyards. In the meantime, we all wish you good luck.

Thank you for representing the Federated States of Micronesia.

Sincerely,

David W. Panuelo

President
